Hair like structures (trichomes) on the Zinnia flower
petal's outer edge. Magnification - 450 times.


The colors of the flowers are caused by pigments like Anthocyanin,
Betalains etc. 
The color pigment cells are placed near the surface of the flower petals.

Very interesting views of the flower petals. It is amazing to see the design structures when magnified.

These are beautiful and interesting. I have never seen flower petals under a microscope and didn't know about the trichomes.
