Cream, ointment and lotion through the microscope.


     Creams, ointments and lotions are widely used. A cream is an mixture of oil and water in approximately equal proportions. Ointment is a mixture of 80% oil and 20% water. Lotions are oil mixed with water and less viscous than cream and ointment.
